After a 10 hours flight our whole group of students arrived safely at the airport of Colombo, Sri Lanka‘s capital. There Francis, the leader of S.T.E.P.S. and some friends of him heartily welcomed us. It was already so warm and sticky that one of our first activities was to change – from warm blue jeans into shorts and into a pair of flip flops.
On our way to Dambulla, which is a city in the center of Sri Lanka, we passed a clay brick manufacture. There we refreshed ourselves with a coconut drink.
The juice of this fruit, which you can buy at every corner, is very healthy. It was very interesting to see the brick production and we also got the possibility to produce a brick with our own hands.
In the early evening, after already having made lots of different impressions of Sri Lanka, we finally arrived at our hotel.
