The next day we visited Pollonaruwa. After Anuradhapura was abandoned the city of Polonnaruwa emerged as the new king`s capital in the 12th century. With hired bikes we discovered the old ruins of the city, which were declared as a world heritage site, too.
In the late evening we continued our trip finally to Batticaloa. There we went directly to Franci`s house and got a delicious Sri Lankan meal. We sat together in the garden with curry, rice, salads and fruits.
We all were very glad to get in contact with more members of S.T.E.P.S.
